Membership at Metropolitan

Metropolitan’s course, clubhouse, history and tradition are only a few reasons as to why you would want to join our prestigious Club.  Part of the renowned “sandbelt” Metropolitan enjoys a reputation as one of the best-conditioned and most beautiful courses in the country and is widely regarded as one of the finest championship courses in Australia.  We have a very socially engaged membership who make full use of the recently completed $12 million rebuild of our Clubhouse facility with a wide range of social events during the year.

Process for joining

New members are warmly welcomed to our Club. The procedure for applying for membership is that a member needs to request an application form on your behalf. This application for membership will then be completed by members of the Club who are acting as sponsors. Once this form is completed and the application fee processed you will be placed on the waiting list.

Details about membership and joining fees are confidential and may only be provided by a member of the Club acting as the Proposer of an application for membership.

Cadet Golfers at Metropolitan

The Club has a program in place for Cadet Golfers.  The program is aimed at children between 10 and 17 years of age who are interested in playing golf and who may, in due course, want to be considered for membership of the Club.  The program aims to improve the player’s level of skill while also learning about the game and the Club. Cadets have limited playing privileges but are not members of the Club.  All nominations to become a Cadet Golfer must be made by a current member of the Club. Junior Golf Scholarships

The Metropolitan Golf Club is offering a number of Junior Golf Scholarships to assist junior golf development in Victoria.  In the past ten years 135 scholarships have been awarded and many of the recipients have gone on to become members of Metropolitan. This includes Touring Professionals Su Oh and Todd Sinnott.

Junior Golf Scholarships at Metropolitan provide for complimentary use of the course and facilities of the Club for 12 months and an organised golf skills program provided by the Club’s PGA qualified staff, including Stuart Leong (Australian PGA Teacher of the Year 2015).

Selection criteria to determine the awarding of scholarships will be based on:

  • Consideration of written applications received
  • Assessment of ability, potential and personal conduct

Applications for the 2018/19 Scholarship Program is now closed.
